Warragamba Dam and Western Sydney International Airport Experience Centre

Description:

Look out at Warragamba Dam and see the past and future of Sydney'swater supply. Marvel at this engineering masterpiece as it nestles quietly in native bushland. Delve into the history of the dam builders who laboured to create one of the world's largest domestic water supply dams. Look into the future at the interactive 'Water for Life' exhibition.

Construction of Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport is underway and on track to begin operations in 2026. The airport is a transformational infrastructure project that will generate economic activity, provide employment opportunities closer to home for people in the Western Sydney region, and meet Sydney's growing aviation needs.

The WSI Experience Centre is a community engagement and education hub, where you can depart on a journey to discover how Western Sydney International will help shape the future of Western Sydney. Touring the Centre provides visitors with project information, digital engagement experiences and learning opportunities. Located on the airport site, you will be taken through a series of interactive stop overs where you will learn about the region and its people and understand the opportunities that will come from Australia’s first smart airport. You will be immersed in the experience as you step into the airport control room and arrive at your final destination, the airport site. Here, you will have a clear view of the future airfield and be able to see the airport come to life.
