Thirlmere Festival of Steam

Description:

The quaint village of Thirlmere comes alive with steam and nostalgia for the annual Thirlmere Festival of Steam.

Steam train rides will operate from the NSW Rail Museum while all the fun of a country fair including street stalls, music, carnival rides and vintage steam machinery will take place in and around Thirlmere.

Take a 50-minute 'double-header' steam train ride along the Thirlmere Heritage Railway with historic locomotives 2705 and 3016.

There will be plenty of steam action on site at the museum with several locomotives in steam, a 1920s Aveling and Porter steam truck and road roller, a 1901 steam car, live steam model locomotives, plus full size and miniature steam traction engines and so much more!

Australia's premier steam event since 1989 runs annually, so don’t wait another year!
